"If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will
heal their land (2Chron7:14:KJV)."
God
demonstrates His mighty power in response to the prayer of His
children. I greatly encourage you to fully review this information
on our intercessors team. A team is defined as a group of individuals
who join together to achieve a common goal. As Christians, we
have a goal set by God which is to fulfill the great commission,
and take God's word into all nations. TCB Evangelistic Impact
Ministry is dedicated to this great commission with a passion.
One
of God's most wonderful blessings is His faithfulness to waken
intercessor for "Night watch" or "Early morning
watch" and place them on duty to hold off the enemy.
"Exhort
therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for
all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable
life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our savior; who will have all men to be saved,
and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (1Timo2:1-4:KJV)."
The
Holy Spirit, through Paul, strongly encouraged the young pastor
to intercede for everyone. Paul encouraged Timothy to pray for
those in authority and included the reason why "all men to
be saved." No doubt Paul was familiar with what the writer
of proverbs given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit said concerning
righteous leadership, "When the righteous are in authority,
the people rejoice; but when a wicked beareth rule, the people
mourn (Prov29:2:KJV)."
The
term intercession literally means "to come upon," "to
meet with," "to come between." To intercede is
to stand between God and someone. It is to represent another person's
concern to God. An intercessor is a go--between. Scriptures teach
that through intercession, people could be changed. The term itself,
however, implies that intercession does not bring about change.
Intercession is the process that links those who need to be changed,
with the "One" who can bring about change. One reason
God allows us to suffer is that we can identify with others in
our prayer.
If
we are going to intercede for others, we must ask the Lord to
help us see what others see and feel. When we share in their suffering,
we will pray with an earnest we have never known before. Once
we begin interceding for someone, we must not give up. We are
to stick with it until either our prayer is answered, or the burden
is lifted.
