Q.
What impact should churches around the world have on their communities?
A. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders.” The Son referred to here is Christ Jesus, who died on the cross and rose on the third day for the purpose of transforming the world. Christians began to gather in groups, calling themselves churches, and He gave them the Holy Spirit, who leads, directs, counsels, and gives wisdom, insight, and discernment to church bodies that are filled with and lead by the Holy Spirit. Not only should the government be on its shoulder, but the church also be a catalyst, bringing change to the community, the country, and the world, sharing the gospel of Christ with those who need a Savior. Jesus Christ is the head of a Holy Spirit-filled church.
Q.
Do you believe Christian leaders can be leaders outside of the church?
A. A Christian leader should be a leader everywhere, whether in a secular or Christian context. Our mandate is to model Christianity in season and out of season, wherever we are. Christian leaders serve not only by leading in the church, but they also model Christ’s likeness to the world. They serve as “salt and light” to those around them who may or may not know the Savior.
Q.
What kinds of leadership advice does your evangelist ministry give to church
leaders?
A. The
lifestyle of a church leader must, of course, be Christ-centered, but in this
case, simply being a Christian is not enough. Because not all Christians are
leaders, Christian leaders must go further, placing themselves under the headship
of Christ, submitting completely, withholding nothing (Romans 6:13). “But rather
offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life: and
offer the parts of your body to him as an instrument of righteousness.” This
imperative is based on the truth that the believer no longer serves sin, but
now lives to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, who shattered the power of sin at
the cross. Whereas before salvation we had no choice, we now know Christ and
can choose to serve Him. It is imperative that those who lead set an example
for those who follow. If followers are to make an unwavering commitment to Christ,
leaders must model committed discipleship.
Q.
What denomination is your evangelist ministry?
A. My evangelical ministry
is an independent, nondenominational, Bible-believing ministry that embraces
a Christ-like lifestyle.
Q.
What is the purpose of your message?
A. This ministry was designed to fulfill the Great Commission, to go into all the world, preach the gospel and make disciples, with a strong focus on the Island of Jamaica. And though no preacher or teacher is capable of changing anyone’s heart, the Holy Spirit will do His work, as we as believers simply speak His message, winning souls and encouraging believers to be strong and courageous, no matter what trials may come. Our ultimate goal is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ with all our hearts, souls and minds.
Q.
What is your ministry’s mission?
A. Our mission is to pray in a mighty move of God for the world, but especially for the Island of Jamaica. To that end, I am inviting all Jamaicans who know Christ to join me in that prayer effort, sincerely interceding for our land. My goal is to meet with pastors, to let them know what God has laid on my heart, and explain the plan of action.
Q.
Why do you place so much emphasis on the cross?
A. The Bible says the cross
is the only way to salvation. It is only there that old things become brand new, allowing even the worst
of sinners to be forgiven, and offered a new purpose for living.
